Lorito Books is dedicated to building second language literacy and appreciation for the richness of Latino culture.  We seek to build bridges between the U.S. and Latin America and to strengthen general literacy in both regions.

We believe audiobooks are powerful learning tools. We hope that our books will unlock the mysteries of 2nd language learning and will entertain children while building skills and confidence.

Lorito Books' President, Pam Fochtman, worked in the audiobook industry for several years as Sales Manager of Landmark Audiobooks, a distributor serving the library market.  Customer requests for audiobooks in Spanish provided her with the idea for Lorito Books. Graduate studies at the University of Denver in Latin American trade and economics reinforced her vision. She has traveled extensively throughout Latin America and has worked with an orphanage in Chihuahua, Chihuahua for several years. She is currently a member of the Institute for International Education, the REFORMA chapter of the American Library Association and the Independent Book Publishers Association.

What is a Lorito?!

A Lorito is a small parrot in Spanish.  So, we're a company that produces talking books named after a talking bird. ¿Muy listo, sí?
